The Wanted rose to fame in 2010 when their debut single, "All Time Low", reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. They released their debut studio album, The Wanted, in October 2010, which debuted at number four on the UK Albums Chart and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The album's second single, "Heart Vacancy", peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart.
In 2011, The Wanted released their second studio album, Battleground, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The album's lead single, "Glad You Came", became the band's second UK number-one single and was certified platinum by the BPI. Battleground produced two other top-ten singles, "Lightning" and "Warzone".
In 2012, The Wanted released their third studio album, Word of Mouth, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The album's lead single, "Chasing the Sun", became the band's third UK number-one single. Word of Mouth produced two other top-ten singles, "I Found You" and "Show Me Love (America)".
In 2013, The Wanted went on hiatus. The group reunited in 2014 and released their fourth studio album, Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits, which peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart.
In 2014, The Wanted went on another hiatus. The group officially disbanded in 2019.
