How do you hook up surround sound system and bell cable box to TV?

To connect a surround sound system and a cable box to your TV, follow these steps:

1. Connect your cable box to your TV:

- Use a HDMI cable to connect the HDMI output port of your cable box to the HDMI input port of your TV.

- Make sure both the cable box and the TV are turned off.

- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI output port on the back of your cable box.

- Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into an HDMI input port on your TV.

- If your TV and cable box have different types of HDMI ports, such as HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0, make sure you use the appropriate cable.

2. Connect the surround sound system to your TV:

- Connect an optical audio cable or an HDMI cable from the ARC (Audio Return Channel) port on your TV to the corresponding port on your surround sound receiver.

- If your TV doesn't have an ARC port, you can also use a 3.5mm stereo audio cable (also known as an auxiliary cable) to connect your TV's headphone output to the auxiliary input on your receiver.

3. Connect your surround sound system to your speakers:

- Connect the speaker cables from your surround sound receiver to the corresponding terminals on your speakers.

4. Turn on the TV and the cable box:

- Turn on your TV first, then turn on your cable box.

5. Set the audio output on your cable box:

- Open the settings menu on your cable box.

- Select the "Audio" or "Sound" settings.

- Set the audio output to the type of connection you used between the TV and the cable box (HDMI or optical).
