How to Create an Email Address at Myspace.com

As the popularity of community pages increases online, they've become more all-encompassing. Now you can create an email address on MySpace and receive and send emails once you've signed up.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the MySpace home page (see Resources). Look for a box on the lower right-hand side that says "Log in" and "Sign up." Click on the "Sign up" tab.

    • 2

After clicking on the "Sign up" tab, you will be directed to a page titled "Join Myspace here!" On this page, you will enter your email address into the email address box. Be careful and enter it accurately in both the email address and verification boxes. Enter your first, last name, country, state, and postal code into the requested information boxes. Also include your date of birth, site language and country preferences, then enter a verification code. After reviewing the terms of service and entering all of this information, hit the "Sign up" button at the bottom of the page.

After hitting the "Sign up" button, you will be directed to another page that allows you to invite friends using the address book from the email account you've provided. If you do not wish to invite friends from your address book, then click on "Skip this step" at the bottom of the right-hand side of the page.

The rest of the process is to set up your profile page. If you are only interested in having a profile for the email abilities, then skip the steps that require you to upload photos and fill out information for your profile. To find friends and contacts, use the search engine located on the upper right side of the page. You can search by name or email address, and can even find friends by what high school they attended. Once you find a person you would like to contact, you can click on "Message" or "Friend request" them, in order to be able to send them message. According to your friend's settings, you may have to be their "Friend" before you are able to send them messages.

Myspace offers "Help" whenever you need it, so don't be afraid to access help by clicking on the "Help" menu option at the top of the page. They also offer an 800 number for questions you would like to direct to a real person.
