How to Watch TV Programs on a PC

Tired of having to choose between watching one of two TV shows at a time? Don't feel like buying a DVR? You can solve these problems by watching TV programs on your computer. The links found below house hundreds of uploaded programs that can be watched at your leisure. You can even use two of the programs listed below to watch live television streams. Here are five different ways that you can watch TV programs on a PC.

      Log onto the Hulu homepage. Hulu is run by NBC Universal and News Corp. and is home to both episodes and clips from many popular shows that are currently on television. To search for a program, you can type the name of the show in the text box found in the top right corner of the homepage. You can also click the "TV" tab at the top of the page to browse for programs by category.

      Go to the Surf the Channel website. Surf the Channel has links to episodes that have been uploaded by users of the website. You can type the name of the program in the "Enter search term here" text box found at the top of the homepage. You can also click the "Channels" tab at the top of the page to search for programs by category.

      Visit the TV Shack website. TV Shack is similar to Surf the Channel in that TV programs are uploaded by users. You can search for shows by name by typing in the search box at the very top of the homepage. You can also place your cursor over the "Video Channels" tab at the top of the page. Once you do, a drop box will appear. Click the "Television" link in the drop box to search for TV programs by name.

      Watch live TV programs on the Channel Surfing website. Channel Surfing has links for live sports, movies and popular network shows. Scroll down the page and you will find about two dozen links for live programming. Click on the link and the Channel Surfing media player will open in a new window. After a few seconds, the channel will begin playing.

      Use the TVU Player to watch live TV programs. Log onto the TVU Networks homepage and click the green "Download" tab. Click the same green "Download" tab on the next web page to download the program. Install and open the TVU Player. There will be tabs at the top of the player which will allow you to browse through streaming stations by category, such as "Sports" or "News."
