Choose your method of acquiring tickets: in-person, online or stand by. If you are already in New York and want to try your hand at getting tickets for that day for "The Late Show with David Letterman," call 212-247-6497 beginning at 11 a.m. Answer a trivia question, and your name will be taken and added to a list, in the order it was received. Show up at the studio one hour before taping or at any other specific time you are requested to be there. If any remaining seats are left after ticket holders are seated, you will get to see Letterman.
Submit an in-person request for tickets. If you live in New York, or you are visiting the city, you can request tickets by going to the lobby of the theater on 1697 Broadway. You can request tickets Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are awarded randomly, and you will be notified by phone if you are selected.
Complete the online submission form for David Letterman tickets. You will be asked to submit your name and your guest's name, your phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Select three dates that you wish to see Letterman. You will be called if there is ticket availability on your selected dates. You must answer correctly a trivia question about Letterman to receive tickets. You are only allowed two tickets and may be called anytime, up to the day of the show.
