When was The Wizard of Oz first televised and it in black white or switched to color also?

The Wizard of Oz was first televised on November 3, 1956, as part of the "NBC Color Spectacular" series.

This was the first time the movie was shown on television and was aired in color. It wasn't originally filmed in color (it was shot in Technicolor), but the color version was created for the television broadcast.

It's interesting to note that this was a very early example of a color television broadcast, as color TV was still relatively new at the time.
