How to Watch Old MTV Episodes

Although it rose to prominence because of music videos, MTV has long been a source for non-music programming as well. Beginning in the 1980s, the network broadcast programs like "This Week in Rock," "Beavis and Butthead" and the "The Real World" in addition to its regular video programming. If you want to re-watch old favorite episodes or discover a series you missed or weren't interested in at the time, you can use any of several means for doing so.

Instructions

    • 1

Peruse MTV's schedule, either online or in your TV's programming guide, to see if any reruns of old shows you like will be shown. MTV reruns certain old TV shows from time to time, so it's possible you can watch an episode you want to see live on air.

    • 2

Search for old MTV shows on user-uploaded video sites like YouTube, VeOh! and Vimeo. Enter the name of the show or the episode into the "Search" box and hit the "Enter" key.

    • 3

Purchase DVDs of old MTV shows at your local video store or your preferred online movie retailer. MTV released DVDs of its most popular shows, including "Beavis and Butthead" and "Road Rules."
