Use Hulu to watch television on theIinternet. Hulu is one of the original providers of Internet television. The company provides two types of access to television programming. Free and a service known as Hulu Plus. The free service allows the user to watch the most recent episodes of television shows. Hulu Plus, for $7.99 per month, permits the user to watch any current or past episode. The paid service also allows the user to watch television on other platforms, such as tablets or game consoles.
Use a network's website to watch television. Many of the networks that produce shows for television stream their most recent episodes directly on their own websites. ABC, NBC and CBS, for example, each dedicate portions of their websites to viewing complete episodes of their shows. There is no cost to viewing the episodes, but each stream is sponsored by an advertiser. During commercial breaks the viewer must sit through a 30- to 45-second commercial by that advertiser.
Use other sources to watch television. Several other websites, not directly associated with the television networks or Hulu, allow users to watch television shows on the Internet. One unique feature of these websites is that they offer international television. WWITV.com, for example, streams the Al Jazeera network, BBC Television and other global programming.
