Can you lay a rear projection TV on front?

Rear-projection TVs (RPTVs) are generally designed to be used in a vertical orientation, with the screen facing the audience. While some high-end RPTVs may have the ability to be mounted horizontally (sideways), it is not recommended to lay them flat or on their front.

Doing this can put undue stress on the internal components and cause damage to the TV. However, newer models of RPTV televisions feature built-in stands or wall-mounting brackets, making it easier for users to adjust their viewing angle. Additionally, some newer models of RPTV televisions incorporate advanced screen technologies, such as LED-backlighting and microdisplays, which allow them to be thinner and more lightweight, making it easier to position them horizontally.
