The park includes playing fields, nature areas and a large playground with swings, climbing frames, slides and a water feature. It is also home to the Coram's Fields Playground Centre which runs activities and events for children and young people.
The park is named after Captain Thomas Coram, a philanthropist who founded the Foundling Hospital in 1739. The hospital was established as a place to care for abandoned children and provide them with an education. The hospital moved to larger premises in Clerkenwell in 1760 and the site was then used as a playground for local children.
In the 19th century, the park was expanded and improved and it became a popular destination for families. In 1977, the park was listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.
Today, Coram's Fields is a popular and well-used park that is enjoyed by children and adults alike.
