Create a posting for Craigslist. Go to Craigslist (www.craigslist.org) and select the city you live in and/or work in. Click on the "Post to Classifieds" box on the left side of the screen. It will prompt you to pick the type of posting it is; click on the "Job Offered" box. You will be asked to choose which type of job it is. Select "TV/Film/Radio Jobs." Click "Proceed." Choose the neighborhood that you are offering the job in. Next, fill out the posting itself. Include the type of project, how much you're paying for the project and the information that you'd like from potential typists, such as a resume, sample work and references. After you pay for the posting, it'll go up on the site and you'll start having typists to choose from.
Go to a website such as www.scriptologist.com, www.writersstore.com or scriptsunlimited.biz that offer script writing services. Whether you're looking to have a preexisting or potential script typed, formatted, re-formatted and/or revisions done, these websites offer quick turnaround on projects such as television scripts and feature film scripts. To place an order or respond to a classified ad, call the phone number or email the contact person listed on the site.
Create a flyer advertising a script typist job opportunity either on your computer or with paper and pen. Write a job description specifically outlining what you expect from the script typist, the time commitment and the pay. Include your contact information, such as your email address and/or phone number. Post the flyer in the Film/TV and English departments of local community colleges and universities, trade schools for film and television, community centers and coffee shops. When people contact you for the job, you can then ask them to submit resumes, samples and references.
