How to Kiss in Front of a Camera
Performing a kissing scene for a motion picture film or video camera can be an embarrassing task for some actors. While it is always best for actors to actually kiss for authenticity's sake, you may run into situations where an actor is embarrassed or unwilling to perform a kiss in front of a camera. You can create a kissing scene without your lips even touching, as long as you use a simple staging technique. However, consider this a last resort, as it will not appear realistic; try discussing the scene with the other actor and the director to try to ease any discomfort before resorting to this method.

1
Block the scene so that when you lean in for a kiss, the back of your head will obscure the face of the actor you are supposed to kiss from the camera's point-of-view.
-
2
Move your hand upward, as if you are going to embrace the face of the actor you will kiss.

-
3
Place your hand in front of your mouth and the other actor's mouth, making sure to hide the hand placement from the point-of-view of the camera.
-
4
Kiss your thumb or palm. Move your head to help "sell" the scene as if you are actually kissing the other actor.
