Start with a hook, such as a good review or a quote from a fan. Get your reader's attention right from the beginning and then go on to give your basic details, like your real or artist name, where you grew up and the type of performer you are. Tailor your bio to your audience. If you're sending your bio to a potential employer, for example, include your most important past recognition or highest level of training. If you're promoting a new performance, remind the reader of a past performance where you've dazzled audiences and give a few details of your new role. This should be a paragraph long, and your whole biography should not be longer than a page.
State your bio's purpose. For example, tell a potential employer why you're interested in the job -- and why you're perfect for it. If you're releasing a new album or appearing in an upcoming film, for example, give the relevant details and make your reader want to find out more about your new performance.
Highlight your previous experience, notable accomplishments and awards and other recognition. Provide one or two quotes from stellar reviews and links to videos or articles relating to your work. Dedicate one or two paragraphs to your performing background.
End your bio. Craft a couple of sentences that summarize your bio. Remind the reader what is unique about you and leave him reader wanting more. Give a link to your website, social media or portfolio and other contact information.
