Olivia Newton-John (born September 26, 1948) is a British-born Australian singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and activist. In a career spanning more than five decades, Newton-John has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and has won four Grammy Awards, nine American Music Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards.

During the 1970s, Newton-John found success as a country-pop singer, scoring top-10 hits such as "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)", "Have You Never Been Mellow", and "Please Mr. Please". Her career received a major boost in 1978 with the release of the musical film _Grease_, in which she starred alongside John Travolta. The film's soundtrack became one of the best-selling albums of all time, and Newton-John's recording of the title track became one of the most iconic pop songs of the era.

In the early 1980s, Newton-John continued to release hit songs, including "Heart Attack", "Physical", and "Make a Move on Me". She also starred in a number of films during this period, including _Xanadu_ (1980), _Two of a Kind_ (1983), and _It's My Party_ (1996).

In the late 1980s, Newton-John's career began to decline. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and underwent treatment. In the years that followed, she continued to release music and perform live. In 2002, she starred in the Broadway production of the musical _Xanadu_.

In recent years, Newton-John has become an advocate for breast cancer awareness. She has established the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia, and she has written several books about her experiences with cancer.

Newton-John has also been recognized for her work as a humanitarian. In 1990, she was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). She has also been involved with several other charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Starlight Foundation.
