In 2015, Warner Bros. Pictures and Fazbear Entertainment announced that a live-action film adaptation of the Five Nights at Freddy's video game series was in development. The film was originally set to be directed by Gil Kenan and produced by Roy Lee, with a script written by Tyler Burton Smith. However, in 2018, it was announced that Kenan had left the project and that Blumhouse Productions had taken over production. The film is now set to be directed by Emma Tammi, with a script written by Scott Cawthon, the creator of the video game series.
The film's release date has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be released sometime in 2023 or 2024.
