How to Audition for Big Brother

Secret alliances, plot twists and backstabbing all sound like the makings for a great soap opera, but they're also part of the reality show "Big Brother." The premise sounds easy--just live in a house with several other people for a few months--but getting onto such a popular reality show isn't.

Instructions

    • 1

Know what you're in for, before you go to the trouble of auditioning. "Big Brother" contestants are stuck in the house together for 3 months and filmed 24 hours a day. Not only will you have no contact with the outside world, but you will also be competing with these seven other people for the big cash prize, and this show's contestants are known for their brutally competitive tactics.

    • 2

Find out in what cities "Big Brother" will be looking for contestants. They usually look in several cities across the country, so pick the closest city and prepare to do a bit of traveling. Go to the show's website (see Resources below) to find out when and where they will be holding their next casting call.

    • 3

Get to the audition site early in the morning, just in case there is a long line. You will probably have to wait for quite a while, so clear your schedule for the entire day. Fill out the application and answer all the questions honestly.

    • 4

Tell the show's reps why you want to be a "Big Brother" house guest. Be honest and outgoing while trying to display your unique personality traits. The entire tryout process will include interviews, group games and a psychological assessment.

    • 5

Wait for a call from a "Big Brother" rep. The odds are against you, but you never know, you just might be one of the next "Big Brother" house guests.
