Get in good shape. Most people accepted on ABC's reality TV shows The Bachelor or The Bachelorette have been attractive and look good on camera. Hit the gym and firm up while avoid salt! Also be sure to go to a good salon to get your hair done!
Be happy and competent on your own and ready to find another great person to share your happiness with. You can't have a healthy successful relationship until you are a healthy happy person on your own. You should never look for a potential spouse out of lonely desperation, or to fill a lack of happiness. A potential mate for life should be sought only when you are happy with who you are and feel you have a lot of love to give and a lot to offer someone else.
Practice talking on camera. Being on the Bachelorette requires being able to speak well on camera and express yourself naturally. Have friends ask you questions while recording yourself, watch yourself and see where you can make changes to appear more natural on camera.
Create your video application/nomination introducing yourself and talking about why you would be a perfect candidate for the Bachelorette.
Get some good headshots taken. You can either pay for professional headshots, or you can post an ad on craigslist looking for TFCD (Time for CD) with a photographer who is building their portfolio.
