Upload a video, when the option is available on the Food Network website. The video must be 3 minutes long. You can also mail the video to CBS/The Food Network Star 524 West 57th St. NY, NY 10019 or you can bring it to an open call, which will be announced at the Food Network website.
Make the tape yourself because, as it can't be professionally made. Explain in the video why you should have your own Food Network show.
Talk about yourself. State your full name at the beginning of the video. Label the tape with your name and phone number.
Cook a dish on camera. Pretend you are actually hosting a show to give the judges an idea of what you have to bring to the table. Be creative.
Don't play music in your audition tape. Don't wear clothing that shows logos or brand names. Cover up all tattoos.
Email a PDF application to nfns7casting@gmail.com when applications become available on the Food Network website. Fill out a release waiver. Include two photos of yourself, both labeled with your name. You can also either mail these items to the above address or bring them to an open call.
Submit five original recipes, if requested. Participate in one or more phone interviews with Food Network representatives or CBS producers. You may be requested to submit an additional video.
Attend a final interview in New York if you are shortlisted. Be prepared to submit up to 30 original recipes.
Provide a photocopy of a piece of photo ID and a birth certificate if you are selected as a finalist. You may be required to compete on the show for 7 weeks at a location that will be decided at a later date.
