How to Check on a Video From AFV

"America's Funniest Home Videos," better known as "AFV," has been broadcasting people's antics and embarrassing moments for decades. If you've submitted a clip to the show in hopes of showing off some of your own embarrassing moments, you could be waiting a while for that to happen. According to the show's official rules, your video could be chosen at any time, meaning a video that didn't air right away may be picked up for airing some time in the future. If you want to check the status of your video, you'll need to follow the submission instructions carefully.

      Complete the release forms required for submittal to AFV. If you submitted your video online, download the forms from the AFV site, print them and then mail them to the company. The downloaded form will include an ID number -- write it down and keep it in a safe place. If you submitted via mail, AFV will mail you the release forms, which you must complete and mail back. The form will contain an ID number.

      Locate the ID number for your video submission so that you have it on hand to make your inquiry. Also have the description of the clip on hand so that you can share it with the staff person with whom you speak.

      Call AFV at 310 442 5600. Ask for the Web Clearance Department, and then inquire about your clip from the staff.
