How to Make My Daughter Look Like Shirley Temple

Shirley Temple starred in more than 40 movies and even won an Oscar in 1935. Instructions

    • 1

Curl all of your daughter's hair with a medium-barrel curling iron. Spray the curls with hairspray and pin them to her head with bobby pins. Sponge rollers will also produce ringlet curls. Put these in your daughter's hair when it is wet and leave them in overnight. Sponge rollers will produce very tight curls that you may not need to pin. If her hair is too long or isn't the right color, purchase a blonde curly wig from a costume store.

Find a baby doll dress at a vintage thrift store or costume store. A baby doll dress has a waistline that falls just below the bust and then flows out in an A-line shape.

    • 3

Purchase a pair of bloomers for your daughter to wear underneath her dress.

    • 4

Buy a pair of black tap shoes or shoes that look similar. Shirley Temple was always dancing about in her black tap shoes, so these are a staple of her look.

    • 5

Get her a pair of frilly white socks to wear underneath her tap shoes. These should cut off at the ankle.

    • 6

Let your daughter watch some Shirley Temple movies so she can see what she was like and imitate the way she talked, danced and sang.
