How to Clean 8mm Film
If you're a fan of 8mm film--which is actually 16mm film split in half--you need to take proper care of your treasured collection. Odds are that the films you're holding onto are one of a kind. If properly protected, they'll last for many more years. Neglect them, and they'll be split or frayed before you know it. Just cleaning the 8mm film isn't enough--you need to lubricate it, as well, if you want it to last.
