How to Use Redbox

Redbox is like a vending machine for movie rentals. As of 2011, a customer could rent a film for one night for $1 and a video game for $2. The machines are usually set up in retail stores and fast food restaurants. A customer can use one in person or reserve a movie online.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit redbox.com and create an account. Members have access to site locations and the option to reserve movies online.

    • 2

Touch the main screen of any Redbox kiosk. Browse through the titles and press "add to cart" for any movie you want to rent. Some machines may limit how many titles a first-time user can rent.

    • 3

Touch the "check out" option, then swipe a credit or debit card on the right side of the machine. Hit "continue" and enter an email address. The discs take about 15 seconds to come out of the machine.

If you reserved an item online, touch the "online rental pickup" tab on the machine. Follow the instructions on the machine to complete the rental.

Most Redbox products must be returned by 9 p.m. the next day. Press "return" on the main touch screen. The screen will prompt you to put the DVD in a slot. Wait for a message that says "dvd returned successfully."
