Contact companies such as Script Shack or Newmarket Press's The Shooting Script brand, which publish transcribed screenplays. These companies sell transcribed screenplays in electronic files and book form, respectively. You can also get work transcribing movie scripts for employed screenwriters.
Watch the movie, once you have transcribed the film's script. Take notes about the basic structure of the story, recurring dialogue, and the number of cast members.
Transcribe the dialogue, one scene at a time. Make sure the dialogue is as accurate as possible. You should keep stage directions or other notes to a minimum.
Type up settings and set descriptions. These should also be brief. For example, settings in scripts are stated as "INT. HOUSE," then a space, then a short description of the interior of the home. The combination of characters and action verbs, such as"MARK PUNCHED," is often in bold.
Revise the script, correcting any errors in transcription and cutting superfluous description. Review some of your favorite screenplays online, as most out-of-copyright scripts are available there.
Submit the transcribed movie script to the company, being sure that it is formatted correctly. Most frequently, scripts are formatted in New Courier 12.
