The Stuntwomen's Association of Motion Pictures was the first women's stunt association. It was founded in 1967 by some of the first women stunt performers in the business. Members of association have most appeared in numerous feature films including "Eagle Eye," "The Spirit," "Zombieland," "Mission Impossible 3" and "The Departed." The stuntwomen also serve as stunt coordinators and second unit directors. Their offices are located in Studio City, California. Membership into Stuntwomen's Association is by invitation only and is, "offered to only the top stuntwomen in the industry." Members of the group vote on a candidate's membership. The association is run by President Katie Rowe and a board of directors that consist of six other women.
The United Stuntwomen's Association (USA) was founded in 1984. According to their site, The USA not only provides stunt performers, but their members also specialize in a variety of skills ranging from riding motorcycles, flying planes and even performing circus tricks. Its current board of directors consist of President Bonnie Happy and four other women. Its members have appeared in films like "National Treasure 2," "Daredevil" and "Pirates of the Caribbean." Its members have doubled as Hollywood stars including Jennifer Garner, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Simpson. Many of USA's members were also featured in a documentary chronicling the lives of stuntwomen, "Heroes of Hollywood." USA's main office is located in Saugus, California.
V10 Stunts is a women's stunt association consisting of 15 members. Membership into V10 Stunts is by invitation only and is usually offered after a stuntwoman has amassed an impressive body of work. Their members have appeared in films like "The Expendables," "Step Brothers" and "Smokin' Aces." Members of V10 specialize in fields ranging from gymnastics to armed stage combat. Their members do stair falls, fire burns and even handle snakes when necessary. Members of V10 have doubled as Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock and Cameron Diaz. All the women in V10 belong to the Screen Actors Guild.
