Secure the film projector on the projector tripod. Point the film projector at a flat, white surface. If you plan to project the image on a wall, choose one that is not reflective and preferably located in dark room.
Remove the film reel from your camera. Load the film into the projector, beginning with the start of the film strip.
Attach your digital or high-definition camcorder to a sturdy tripod. Place the tripod as close to the projector as possible. Move the camcorder's lens as close to the lens of the projector as possible, without blocking either lens.
Turn on your camcorder and the projector. Frame the image on the camcorder by zooming in and re-adjusting the camera's position on the tripod head. Try to fit the camcorder's frame, as seen on the LCD display, around the edges of projected image as closely as possible.
Set the projector's brightness level to its maximum to ensure the clearest picture possible.
Eliminate any unwanted light and noise in the room by closing blinds and doors before recording. Press the "record" button on the camcorder and then "play" on the projector. Do not move or adjust the camcorder during the recording process. Allow the film to finish before stopping the "record" button on the camcorder.
Powering off the camcorder and computer you wish to use, connect the camcorder via FireWire cable or USB.
Capture the footage from your camcorder using a video editing program installed on your PC.
