Where is the house in film how to steal a million?

The house in the film "How to Steal a Million" (1966) is a fictional creation, but it was inspired by the real-life Hôtel de Caumont in Aix-en-Provence, France.

The film's production team, led by director William Wyler, chose the Hôtel de Caumont as the basis for the house owned by the character of Charles Bonnet, played by Peter O'Toole. They used its distinctive architecture and grand interiors as inspiration for the film's sets, even going so far as to build a replica of the façade on the studio backlot.

However, the house itself is not a real location, and was instead built and filmed entirely on a soundstage. The Hôtel de Caumont remains a real location, open to the public as a museum.
