Syncing the Timecode in Final Cut Pro

When editing for multicam shoots in "Final Cut Pro," a common problem you may experience is the audio being out of sync with your video sources. If one of your video sources starts a little later than the others, it could keep your timecodes from syncing up. This is especially common if one of your cameras stops recording or you replace a battery while shooting.

Instructions

    • 1

Select all the video sources, or camera angles, that you want synced. Select "Make Multiclip Sequence" from the drop-down menu. Take note of the window that pops up, which will group all of your video sources together.

    • 2

Set the timecode off-set for cameras that recorded late. For example, if one of your cameras recorded two minutes later than the other cameras that are in sync, input the timecode off-set at two minutes. Click "OK."

    • 3

Open the Viewer. Take note of the Multicam Sequence option in the browser. Play the Multicam Sequence and note that the late cameras do not play in the sequence until their timecodes play.
