How to Make Halloween Stage Props 2: Body Parts - Liver

Whether you are creating a hospital drama or a gory horror scene, a fake liver could come in handy for a movie or theatrical production. A realistic liver will make scenes more authentic, and with certain materials, you can move it in a lifelike fashion. Keep the fake liver to use as an annual Halloween prop.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour five bottles of white glue into a large bowl.

    • 2

Add 2 cups of liquid starch into the glue. Use your hands or a fork to mix them thoroughly. Wear a smock to protect your clothes.

    • 3

Add three drops of red food coloring and one drop of black food coloring. Mix to make a dark red.

    • 4

Pull out the large substance as it hardens. Set it on a piece of wax paper.

    • 5

Mold the shape of the liver. A basic liver includes a large rounded section and a small section, forming a rounded triangle.

    • 6

Set it in the refrigerator overnight. The substance will harden but retain a slightly soft texture.

    • 7

Keep the fake liver in an air-tight container when it is not in use. This prevents it from drying out.
