Plug your Flip into a USB drive on your computer. The FlipShare program will automatically launch and display all videos on your Flip. Click "Save to computer" in FlipShare. Wait until all videos have been saved; then you may unplug your Flip if you wish.
Click "Add new folder" under "Computer" in the left menu. Click "Untitled folder," and type the name of your Flip album and save it. This creates a new folder in your existing folders or albums.
Drag all desired videos that are visible in the thumbnail-viewing panel at right from any folder to the folder you just created. That folder is now your new album, the contents of which are now ready to make compatible with a different video format.
Click on your video album in the left menu in FlipShare. Your videos will appear as thumbnails in the viewing pane at right.
Click "Share" in the top menu bar in FlipShare, and then select "Online" from the drop-down menu, followed by "Others." (This may seem counterintuitive, as you will not be sharing your videos. We are using a "hidden" method of converting Flip's MP4 videos to WAV.)
Select "Other," and then click the "Next" button at bottom right.
Type a name for your album. This will be the name of the folder to be created on your computer's Desktop containing your converted files. Click "Go" at bottom right. FlipShare will begin converting your videos and saving them in a folder to your desktop.
Wait until all your videos are done being converted before closing FlipShare. Your Flip album has now been converted from the MP4 file format to the WAV file format, and it can now be opened in Windows Movie Maker and other programs.
Choose a free video converter to download online. We will use a program called "Any Video Converter" for its safety, reliability and speed.
Navigate to http://www.any-video-converter.com/, and click the "Download" button. Follow the simple installation wizard to install the converter.
Open the video format converter. In the Any Video Converter program, click "Add Video" and browse for the folder containing your chosen Flip album. Select one or multiple videos to convert by holding down "Ctrl" and clicking their icons. Click "Open." The converter will begin loading your MP4s.
Choose a location on your hard drive where you would like to save your converted videos. Your Desktop or Documents folder is always a safe bet. Do this by clicking "Edit" and then "Options" from the top menu bar in your converter program.
Choose any video format (WAV is a good bet for most programs) from the "Profile" menu, and click "Convert." Your videos will be converted to a format compatible with your video viewing and editing programs.
