Locate the area on the ceiling where you would like to install your projector mount. Test the distance by turning on your projector while you are standing on a ladder about ceiling height. Using a stud finder, make sure there are secure studs in the location and measure their distances.
Using the tape measure to measure the projector, add about three to four inches to each side of the plywood, then cut it to size. If you do not have access to a table saw, oftentimes a hardware store will do this step for you.
Return to the calculations made when determining the space between floor joists. In each corner of your plywood board make marks which mirror these measurements. Then drill holes for the eye bolts. Bring the shelf up to the ceiling and match the holes to the ceiling marks. Next, sink the four eye screws into the ceiling
Open up the four 225-lap link connectors using needle nose pliers. Then connect each eye bolt to each eye screw. Secure the plywood shelf by putting the eye bolts through the corner holes before threading the nuts. Your shelf should be sturdy and have a distance between it and the ceiling for the projector to fit securely.
Place your projector onto the mount. Test for viewing quality by turning it on. Simple adjustments can be made using spacers made of various sizes of small scrap wood (like the size of a door stop). Tuck the cords through the back of the shelf and enjoy viewing.
