Reason why Vivaldi made 4 seasons?

Vivaldi wrote The Four Seasons to illustrate the relationship of music and poetry, and to portray certain emotions within a particular movement. Each season is musically depicted by a trio concerto (a three-movement concerto for a small ensemble), and each concerto is preceded by a sonnet, probably written by Vivaldi himself, that describes the music.
