Who pays for the Oscars ceremonies?

The Oscar ceremony is financed by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), as part of its contract with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Academy does generate revenue from various sources, including licensing, merchandise, and membership dues. But those funds are allocated for other operations and initiatives of the Academy, not the Oscar ceremony.
