What year did matchbox come out?

The first matchbox was invented in 1826 by John Walker, a chemist from Stockton-on-Tees, England. Each match required at least 4 minutes to prepare and was too expensive to be commercially viable. He filed British patent 5040 on 23rd October 1826.
