Would people in the Elizabethan Era charged of witchcraft?

Yes, people were charged of witchcraft in the Elizabethan era.

Witchcraft was a serious crime in Tudor and Stuart England. During England’s witchcraft “panic” between 1560 and 1700, approximately 40,000 individuals were accused of practicing magic, and as many as 1,000 may have been executed. This was a remarkably high number compared with continental European countries, which experienced the famous Salem witch trials at roughly the same time. Some of the accused were acquitted, while others were found guilty and punished by death.
