How does Robert Pattinson sparkle?

Robert Pattinson doesn't actually sparkle in real life! That's a misconception based on the character he played in the "Twilight" movie series, Edward Cullen.

In the books and movies, Edward and his vampire family are described as having "sparkling" skin in the sunlight, which is supposed to be a way of showing how they reflect light differently than humans.
