Professor Moody was the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He was a famous Auror who had lost his eye in a battle with Voldemort. However, Crouch Jr. had been disguised as Moody using Polyjuice Potion to take over the teacher position and gain access to Hogwarts for his own sinister purposes.
