Use your gift of gab to distract the audience and never announce what you are about to do. The art of magic lies in the element of surprise. If the audience knows what's coming, it isn't magic; it is simply fulfilling your statement.
Have a covering object, such as a paper bag, that is large enough to hide the object, such as a bowling ball. You will need to pick both objects up at the same time without showing the weight of the bowling ball. The bag must appear to be empty.
Turn the bag upside down, holding the bowling ball securely by placing your fingers in the holes with the hand that is behind the bag and away from the audience. All the while, chattering about the empty bag or some other ordinary topic.
Shake the bag a couple of times, indicating the object is stuck and work the bowling ball off your fingers, allowing it to fall to the ground, or stage. The loud thump of the ball and completion of the trick will snap the audience to attention causing surprise and laughter.
