How do you get past the water that runs fast in seafoam cave Pokemon fire red?

You will need surf to get past this section. If you don't have surf yet you can reach Celadon City and talk to the man north-east of the Pokemon Centre to receive HM03- Surf. Return to Seafoam Islands, use surf and it will allow you to surf across water without being swept away.
