How did Holmes solve the mystery of Adventure Red Headed

The Adventure of the Red-Headed League is short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring his detective character Sherlock Holmes. The story was first published in 1892. In the story, a man named Jabez Wilson comes to Holmes and Watson. He tells them about a job he got at the Red-Headed League. The job was to copy out encyclopedia entries. Wilson was qualified to work for the league because he had red hair. He was paid well for the job, but after a few weeks, the league was suddenly dissolved and Wilson was left unemployed.

Holmes investigates the case and discovers that Wilson was hired as part of an elaborate plan to rob a bank. The man who hired Wilson, a criminal named John Clay, had used the Red-Headed League as a front for his criminal activities. Clay had chosen Wilson because he was unlikely to arouse suspicion.

Holmes and Watson are able to stop Clay and his gang before they can rob the bank. Wilson gets his job back and Clay is arrested.
