- Pliers or a screwdriver
- A hammer or mallet
- A pry bar
- A paint can opener (optional)
Step 2: Remove the Lid
1. Use the pliers or screwdriver to pry open the lid of the paint can.
2. If the lid is stuck, you can use the hammer or mallet to gently tap the lid until it comes loose.
3. Once the lid is loose, remove it from the can.
Step 3: Remove the Seal
1. Once the lid is removed, you will see a layer of dried paint or sealant around the edge of the can. This is the seal.
2. Use the pry bar to carefully pry the seal away from the can.
3. Once the seal is removed, you will be able to see the spout of the paint can.
Step 4: Open the Spout
1. Twist the spout counterclockwise to open it.
2. If the spout is stuck, you can use the pliers or screwdriver to gently pry it open.
Step 5: Pour the Paint
1. Once the spout is open, you can pour the paint into a paint tray or other container.
2. Be careful not to spill the paint.
Step 6: Clean Up
1. Once you are finished pouring the paint, clean up any spills.
2. Place the lid and seal back on the paint can.
3. Store the paint can in a cool, dry place.
