What does the Pokemon move assist do?

Assist is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation II. If the user's most recently used move was damaging, Assist's type becomes the same as that move, and Assist attacks the opponent in the same manner as that move. If the user's last move was not damaging (e.g. Curse), Assist uses the move Heal Bell instead.
