How do you get out of a trap on Pokemon diamond?

There are two main ways to escape a trap in Pokemon Diamond.

1. Use a Pokemon with the move Dig. Dig is a Ground-type move that allows the user to escape from any trap, including sand, spikes, and toxic spikes.

2. Use an item called Escape Rope. Escape Rope can be purchased at any town's Pokemon Mart or found as hidden items in the world. When used, it will instantly allow the player to escape from any trap.
