What happened in the last episode of wizards Waverly place?

The last aired episode of Wizards of Waverly Place was aired on January 6th, 2012, called "who will be the family wizard?". In the episode, Alex, Justin and Max had to compete to be the family wizard. They had to pass trials and tests, but, Alex's powers had been taken away as she had tried to cheat in a test. In the end, she found out that she didn't need her powers to be the family wizard and her family got their powers back.
