What does the dream mean in fiddler on roof?
The dream sequence is based on the story of Joseph and his Brothers. Tevye, the protagonist, is having trouble relating to his daughters, as each of them questions the traditions of their religious and cultural heritage. Each of Tevye's daughters dreams of a different outcome, and as they discuss their dreams, they are joined by historical figures from the bible, including Joseph, his father Jacob and his brothers. Ultimately Tevye is reconciled with his son-in-law Perchik and his daughter Hodel.
