What is a pseudoscorpions related to?

Pseudoscorpions are not actually scorpions! They are arachnids, just like scorpions, spiders, ticks, and mites. However, they are more closely related to spiders than to scorpions.

Here's a breakdown of their relationships:

* Phylum: Arthropoda (all arthropods, including insects, crustaceans, and arachnids)

* Class: Arachnida (spiders, scorpions, ticks, mites, pseudoscorpions, etc.)

* Order: Pseudoscorpiones (pseudoscorpions)

While pseudoscorpions share some physical characteristics with scorpions, like pincers (called pedipalps), they lack a tail with a stinger. They are also much smaller, usually less than 1/4 inch long.
