Set the deck up before performing this trick. Remove the four Kings from an ordinary deck of cards. Pull any two additional cards as well to be called C1 and C2.
Stack the six cards top to bottom: King, C1, C2, King, King, King. Practice showing the cards to the audience with C1 and C2 concealed behind the second King so that it looks like four Kings.
Start telling the story of the four Kings: how they were childhood friends, vowing never to let anything separate them, how they would always reunite, no matter what. Place this pile of six cards on top of the remaining cards in the deck.
Continue telling the story, embellishing as necessary. Pick up the top card (a King) and show it face out to the audience. Move it face down to the bottom of the deck. Take the next card without showing it and place it in the middle of the deck, repeat for the third card.
Show the fourth card to the audience (a King), explaining how his quest must be to reunite with his King friends. Set the deck on the table. Cut the cards and put the top half under the bottom half.
Tap the deck twice with two fingers or ask a spectator to do it. Turn the deck over face up and fan the cards out to show that the four Kings have once again magically been reunited.
Resist the temptation to tell a delighted audience how the trick is performed. Abide by the magician's code of secrecy.
