How do you clone Pokemon on heartgold with only a ds and game?

To clone Pokémon in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver without using a second DS or any special hardware, you can use a single cartridge game duplication glitch known as the "DS Lite cloning glitch." Here are the steps to perform this glitch:

1. Preparations:

- Make sure your Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver game is installed on a DS Lite.

- Have an empty or expendable Pokémon box in your game.

- Catch or obtain a Pokémon that you want to clone.

2. Box Selection and Cloning Setup:

- Place the Pokémon you want to clone in the first position of the empty or expendable Pokémon box.

- Move other Pokémon from the first box into the second box, creating a horizontal layout with a single Pokémon in the first box and several Pokémon in the second box.

3. Triggering the Glitch:

- Close your DS Lite and then open it again, interrupting the game's loading process.

- You will see the "No Data" screen for the cartridge slot where the Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver game is inserted.

4. Clone the Pokémon:

- Insert a spare or blank cartridge into the DS card slot (where you just saw the "No Data" screen).

- The game will load the original Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver game but create a duplicate save file using the blank cartridge.

- The clone of your selected Pokémon will be present in the first box of the duplicate save file.

5. Saving the Cloned Pokémon:

- Turn off the DS Lite and remove the blank cartridge from the card slot.

- Insert the original Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver game back into the DS Lite and turn it on.

- Load your main save file.

- You should now have the cloned Pokémon in the empty box.

Additional Notes:

- This cloning glitch only allows you to create a single clone of the selected Pokémon.

- This glitch may not work on all versions of the DS Lite, and it might be more successful on older DS Lite models.

- Cloned Pokémon obtained using this glitch will have the same characteristics and moves as the original Pokémon.

- There are risks involved in performing this glitch, and it's possible that your game save may become corrupted if the cloning process is interrupted. Perform the glitch at your own risk.
