What is the cord used to keep astronauts from floating into space?

Astronauts don't use a cord to keep them from floating into space! They are secured to the spacecraft or space station in a variety of ways, including:

* Tethers: These are strong, flexible cords that can be attached to astronauts and equipment to prevent them from drifting away.

* Foot restraints: These are straps or hooks that attach to the astronaut's boots and secure them to a platform or handrail.

* Safety harnesses: These are similar to safety harnesses used on Earth, and they can be used to secure astronauts to their workstations or other equipment.

* Handrails and grab bars: These are strategically placed throughout the spacecraft and space station to provide astronauts with something to hold onto.

The main reason astronauts don't float off into space is because they are in microgravity, which means they are experiencing a very low force of gravity. This lack of gravity makes them feel weightless, but it doesn't mean they are completely untethered.
