How come when you deposit a Pokemon in the PC to gain it doesnt work?

There is no such feature in Pokemon games where depositing Pokemon in the PC allows you to gain anything. Players often deposit their Pokemon in the PC to store them and retrieve them later, but it does not have any direct impact on gaining items or rewards in the game.
