What did george strait do before 1983?

Before 1983, George Strait was a student of agriculture and animal science at Southwest Texas State University. He was also part of the university's rodeo team and competed in rodeos. After winning several rodeo events, Strait decided to pursue a career in music. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1975 to pursue a music career.
